Density of Brick

The thickness of the brick is a significant factor. Density indicates the brickwork’s weight. Cores, roots, and frogs reduce the size and in effect lower the cost of the product.

While fire clay bricks have a density of 2400 kg / m3, for common red bricks it is 1900 kg / m3. In contrast to the thickness of the material, brick strength can be directly measured. An oven-dried brick’s mass and volume are measured. By dividing the mass by volume, the bulk density can be determined
