How To Mix Concrete Manually?

Proper Mixing Of The Concrete Component Is Very Important As It Impacts The Performance Of The Concrete Both In Its Fresh State And In Its Hardened State. If It Meets The Following Requirements, A Concrete Is Said To Be Well Mixed.

hand mix concrete

  1. Concrete Mixture Of All Concrete Ingredients
  2. The Concrete Mixture Should Be Uniform In Color
  3. Concrete Mixture Should Cover The Entire Surface Of The Aggregate
  4. Concrete Should Achieve The Correct Consistency For Which It Is Designed.

Hand Mixing For Small Works And Where Concrete Quantities Are Used Following is the procedure For Mix Concrete Manually

Procedure

Step-1 [Mixing Platform]

A Clean And Watertight Wood Blending Table Should Be Used. Build A Platform Of Bricks Or Lean Concrete Or Iron Sheets Of A Size Depending On The Amount Of Concrete To Be Mixed. Usually, An Iron Panel Base With 3m2 In Volume Is Used With Sheets Or Kerbs.

Step-2 [Dry Mixing Of Cement & Sand]

Uniformly Spread The Observed Sand Amount On The Mixing Table. Dump The Cement On The Sand And Evenly Spread It. Mix The Shovels With The Sand And Cement, Turning The Mixture Over And Over Until It Is Color Uniform.

Step-3 [Dry Mixing Of C.A. With Cement-Sand Mix]

Once Again Evenly Spread The Sand-Cement Blend On The Mixing Table. In Addition, The Specified Amount Of C.A (Coarse Aggregate) Is Distributed. Do Not Drop At One Location; Otherwise, The Larger Ions Continue To Flow Out. Mix By Shoveling From The Middle To Bottom At Least Three Occasions Again, Then Away To The Middle And Return To The Bottom.

Step-4 [Addition Of Water]

Make a depression in the center of the blended stack and gently sink into half to three-fourths of the complete amount of water needed. While the material is turned in with shovels towards the center, slowly add the rest of the water, turning the mixture over and over until the color and consistency throughout the pile are uniforms. This will show a thorough combination of all components. The water should be gently mixed into the mixture. This is better performed by fitting a rose-head with a gardener’s water. Throwing water all at once from a pot will cause it to run back and take cement with it.

  • Mixing time does not exceed 3 minutes
  • At the start of the day’s job, the blending station is washed so that it is prepared for use on the following day.

Check For Consistency

The previous easy & fast ground experiment can be used to make a tough assessment of concrete stability. Take a bunch of concrete and tightly grip it in your palm. If the concrete is correctly blended, it will maintain its form after removing the palm stress. The sample floor will also be wet without getting water out of it.

Hand/Manual/Site Mix

  • It’s Fairly Hard To Achieve Consistency Because It’s Mixed At The Site Manually.
  • Requires More Skilled And Unqualified Labor To Mix And Shift The Mortar, Lay And Compact.
  • Concrete Grade Information Whether It Is M20, M25, M30 Etc. And The Density Of The Concrete Mould Will Be Provided By The Respective Civil Engineer / Architect.
  • Requires Adequate Assessment Of The Accessibility Of Plastic Sand At The Location Prior To Timetable.
  • It Takes About 50 Times Longer Than Rmc.
  • Requires Sufficient Room To Fit Equipment And Equipment For Location Mixing.
  • It Is Critical To Monitor The Concrete Mortar Blend Percentage Through The Method.
  • To Obtain The Necessary Concrete Compression Strength, Coherent Products Of Quality Are Very Critical.
  • Not Normally Screened For Combinations On The Spot. Any Third Party Screening Laboratories May Apply For Cube Experimentation By The Proprietor.
  • Compared With Rmc, Site Blend Is Usually Cost-Effective.

Ready Mix Concrete

  • As It Is Manufactured By A Computerized Device, Concrete Mortar Is Compatible.
  • Skilled Labor Only Needed The Concrete To Be Laid And Compacted As Per The Layout.
  • Concrete Grade Details Will Be Provided By The Respective Structural Engineer/Architect Whether It Is M20, M25, M30, Etc. And The Concrete Mold’s Density.
  • Material Procurement Is Not An Issue, But It Requires Adequate Concrete Assessment.
  • The Rmc Authority Should, However, Verify The Products Used In The Mortar That Could Include Fly Ash, Ggbs, Chemicals, Etc.
  • Compared To Site Mix, It Requires About 50 Percent Less Moment.
  • Requires A Street Length Of At Least 30 Feet For The Rmc Transport Car To Maneuver Smoothly.
  • The Proprietor Should Get The Rmc Company’s Cube Exam Document.
  • Choose Licensed Rmc Providers That Produce Is Specifications And Provide Cube Sample Records.
  • Rmc Maker Testing To Be Carried Out And No Extra Fees Are Levied.
  • Compared To Location Blend, Rmc Is More Expensive But Very Handy.
